Sources

Why do certain sources appear in AI answers?

A source in an AI answer is a link that the AI search engine visibly supplied for fixed search prompts. Such a link is a valuable evidence point: it shows which address was supplied. It does not prove why the source was chosen or whether every sentence of the answer comes from it.

In short

A link is evidence, not a justification.

A supplied source is an observed URL or domain that was visible at a specific AI answer. It is a verifiable hint, but not complete proof of how the answer came about, how it was weighted or whether it is correct.

Sources belong to visibility but do not replace it.

The fundamentals article shows how mention, observed position and sources are evaluated together but separately.
